Bliss - Yoga Pilates
This class combines Pilates matwork, moderate to gentle Yoga poses & breathing techniques to enhance abdominal strength, back strength, core stability, joint mobility, muscle length, muscle tone, muscle relaxation & pelvic floor conditioning. This session will assist participants to increase energy, abdominal strength, improve posture and muscle balance. Special focus is given to:
Back stretches and back strengthening
Spinal mobility
Pelvic stability
Abdominal activation and abdominal strength
Pelvic floor activation
Glute (bottom cheek) activation
Hip opening, hip mobility & hip stability
Neck stretching and neck mobility
Muscle balance and muscle synergy
Upper body strength and activation
Leg shaping, toning and strengthening
Effective breathing techniques
Relaxation
This is a small group class customized for your individual needs and physical limitations. Depending on the needs of the class most sessions will involve work that includes seated, standing and lying down sequences. It is extremely beneficial for participants to bring a large beach towel or two to help with modifications and advancements of poses. Yoga mats will be provided and for personal hygiene it is expected that a towel be placed over the mat. If you would like to purchase your own Yoga Mat this can be arranged for $20.
